Rotations

Each class is divided into small instructional groups.

What are rotations?

Small groups of students rotate in a determined pattern among the centers.  3-4 areas in the classroom are designated as centers, and each center has a dedicated purpose and is given equal amount of time.

Why rotate?

Teachers  differentiate instruction for each small group and individuals based on real-time data.  Teachers identify students’ needs and coach students by providing timely and targeted feedback.

What do students gain?

Based on analyzed data, teachers acertaine what students are ready to learn next.  Meeting success, students remain confident and motivated in pursuing their next learning goal.  The model allows for flexible groupings based on ability, learning style, compatibility and as needed for a specific lesson or project.
